ArchLIGHT Summit is committed to inspiring the next generation of lighting and design professionals by enabling students and educators to participate in programming free of charge.

Students and educators are welcome to attend the entire ArchLIGHT Summit and explore the latest lighting technologies on the show floor during both days, but a special day of student-oriented programming is planned for Wednesday, September 20. We are also excited to partner with the IALD Education Trust, a not-for profit charitable educational organization that provides direct support to educators and students, including stipends and scholarships, for the purpose of promoting the study of lighting design.

9:00am-10:30am Designing With TM-30
Lighting designers Tony Esposito and Jason Livingston explain the TM-30 method for evaluating light source color rendition and perform an interactive demonstration.

11:00am-11:30am So You Want to Be a Lighting Designer
Learn about the lighting design profession from a representative of the IALD Education Trust.

12:00pm-1:30pm Light Justice Workshop
This session connects students with a local community and representatives from Light Justice to discuss solutions for light equity in exterior environments in historically neglected areas.

2:00pm-3:30pm Control Intent Narratives and Sequences of Operation
Lighting designer Shoshanna Segal leads this interactive session melding the visual environment with operational characteristics of systems being installed, presented at a student-oriented level.

Be sure to follow ArchLIGHT Summit’s social media pages for even more student opportunities, including live streams of selected sessions across both days and one-on-one Portfolio Reviews with the IALD Education Trust.
